CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A potential severe weather system is moving toward the Charlotte area, with forecasts indicating thunderstorms, possible tornadoes, and damaging winds Monday morning.
The region is currently under an Enhanced Risk for severe weather, increasing the likelihood of strong storms. The main concerns include damaging winds and possible spin-up tornadoes.
In response to the forecast, several local school districts have adjusted their schedules for Monday, March 16:
North Carolina
Anson County Schools – Non-Student Day (Closed for employees)
Ashe County Public Schools – Early Dismissal
Richmond County Schools – Closed
South Carolina
Chester County Schools – Closed
Clover School District – Remote Learning
Fort Mill Schools – Closed
Lancaster County School District – Closed
Rock Hill Schools – Closed
York School District – Remote Learning
